While the nearest shops and amenities need a car to reach easily, they are only a short drive away and the no-through road means that you'll experience almost no noise from traffic or neighbours. The gardens and fields nearby are green and verdant, with plenty of citrus and olive trees amongst many other forms of agriculture in evidence. The vast temples and other remains found there are one of the most important sites for ancient history to be found anywhere in Europe. The site begins just fifteen minutes' drive from Casa Carmelo.Only a little further up the road is the beautiful white cliff known as the 'Scala dei Turchi', or the Turkish Steps.
