The property has a historical background of considerable interest, as the buildings, close to the castle of Serravalle, probably constituted around the 12th century a mansion of Templar origin with its church dedicated to Santa Caterina delle Ruote a Serravalle di Buonconvento and, perhaps, its hospital.
Later, it passed to the Knights of Malta, as can be seen from some charters dated 1335.
There are later testimonies of the place of worship in the 16th and 17th centuries as well as in the 18th century: there is a trace of it until 1785 in the list of the Buonconvento Vicariate, in which it retains its name of S. Caterina e Rotarum.
Only in the early 19th century was the church transformed into a sharecropper's house like the building in front of it.

Developed on 2 floors, the farmhouse covers a total area of 1,200 sqm arranged as follows.
The ground floor houses mostly storage rooms, originally stables or rooms for storing agricultural machinery and equipment, and a small portion of the building (80-90 sqm) that has been recently renovated.
On the first floor of the two main buildings, there are some spaces for residential use, inhabited since 2006 and in good condition.

The roofs of the farmhouse have been reconstructed and insulated, as have all the sewers, which have been rebuilt to standard with a septic tank.

In front of the two main buildings there is a well with an inscription in Latin relating to the history of the property.

The property is surrounded by about 1 hectare of land.
