La Escuela del campo is located near the ancient Roman city of Acinipo, high in the sierras of Andalucia, about 18 km from the modern city of Ronda.
Until a few years ago, 'La Escuela del Campo' was a rural school with its own chapel where Las Monchas (the nuns of Ceuta) taught the young people of the area to read and write. Many of our present day neighbours came here not only to school, but also to celebrate, in the chapel, their first communion and even their marriage.
