With satisfaction and pleasure we present to you The Abeel and The Conifer, two brand new 6 to 8 person thatched vacation villas. These houses are also excellent to inhabit if you are forced to use a wheelchair. On our carefully landscaped beautiful, energy-neutral vacation park we have a total of 5 vacation villas. West of our little park the houses are connected to the forest, while on the east side they have a wide view of the farmlands. From The Abeel you can even see the Scottish Highlanders grazing regularly. As the crow flies, our park is 1.5 kilometers from the beach.
These vacation homes are equipped with every luxury and comfort and contain visible elements of the typical Texel building style. The gardens are wonderfully shady and the terraces are south/southwest facing. So you can fully enjoy the early spring sun or the long warm summer evenings.
Zero energy
Great care has been given to the environment and landscape. We have designed the lots so that the character of "the clearing in the woods" has been preserved. At the same time, a cozy spot has been created around each house. The environment has also been considered. The zero energy project is realized with the help of heat pumps, solar panels and solar water heaters, which are subtly concealed in the landscape and hidden from view. The house is kept comfortably warm in winter by underfloor heating in all rooms. In hot weather, it is a few degrees cooler inside than outside, as the floors are then slightly cooled. Electronic devices are powered by the Texel sun using solar panels.
Layout of the houses
First floor:
- Entrance and corridor with storage room, toilet, stairs to second floor, coat rack and mirror. Also the connection to the living room, downstairs bedroom, toilet and utility room.
- Living room (over 36 m2) with pellet stove, spacious living room with eight-seater dining table, a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa, three armchairs, two coffee tables and a side table of root wood. Also equipped with a large dresser, large smart TV and a radio/CD player.
- Kitchen with built-in oven (also with microwave function), built-in refrigerator with separate freezer, built-in dishwasher, four-burner induction hob, extensive kitchen inventory including coffee maker, Senseo, kettle, toaster, orange juicer, hand mixer, etc.
- Master bedroom downstairs (approx. 15 m2) with a double box spring combination with a top deck mattress, two bedside tables, wardrobe with hanging and shelf function, smart TV, pass mirror, clothes hooks for bathrobes etc., blackout curtains.
- Bathroom (disabled-friendly) adjacent to master bedroom, with a very spacious shower unit equipped with hand and rain shower, sunshower (infrared light), shower chair, sink with mirror cabinet and a toilet with armrests. The bathroom and bedroom are adjacent but separated by a door.
- Utility room with shielded water heater, washing machine, clothes dryer, household supplies (vacuum cleaner, drying rack, ironing board, iron etc.) and shelves for any supplies.
- Separate toilet with fountain, accessible from the hall.
Upper floor:
- Large sitting-bedroom (approx. 14 m2) equipped with two box-spring beds, two bedside tables, sitting area with comfortable armchairs, smart TV (viewable from bed or the sitting area), dresser/drawer cupboard, coat rack with luxury hangers, blackout curtains and a French balcony.
- Bedroom (approx. 8.5 m2) with luxury box-spring bed and box-spring trundle bed, nightstand, dresser/drawer cupboard, coat rack and blackout blinds.
- Bedroom (approx. 7 m2) with luxury box-spring bed and box-spring trundle bed, nightstand, dresser/tray, coat rack and blackout blinds.
- Luxury bathroom with bath with whirlpool function, separate shower cabin with hand and rain shower, double sink and toilet.
- Storage room with crib, -box and -chair (bring your own linen for crib).
Additional amenities:
- Small canopy next to the front door for bikes/scootmobile/outdoor toys etc.
- Spacious garden which can also be played in, tastefully bordered with sleepers fence, forestation, dikes and dunes.
- Terrace with garden furniture on the southwest.
- Terrace stove / BBQ.

- One pet is allowed. A second pet is possible in consultation.
Since January 2014, our vacation villas on Pelikaanweg are for rent. On the edge of "De Dennen", just outside De Koog, about one and a half kilometers away from the beach. We have built the houses in-house with many rural elements of the Texel architectural style of yesteryear, but with all the comforts that belong to the present time. The terrain where our houses are located has the character of a large rural clearing on the edge of the forest. Adjacent to the houses is a meadow, where Scottish Highlanders graze. Our guests at Pelican Road are extremely enthusiastic. Many of our guests come back again and again and I am really happy about that!
