Theo & Bea en Autger Soepboer

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Theo and Bea Soepboer. Already 35 years we rent out the 12 cottages of our company 'Holiday cottages Waddenrust'. First we did this together with the parents of Theo, they started 65 years ago with renting out the vacation cottages. Pake Auke (father Theo) even built a number of vacation homes himself, such as LouwtjesDûn, on the west side of the island. Fifteen years ago we got the chance to take over the business from them. Since a couple of years our son, Autger, also works in the company. So you can call Waddenrust a real family business. In our vacation homes you can also feel that history, we are building on where 'pake Auke en beppe Klaske' stopped and hopefully our children will continue that. Some of our regular guests even rented from Auke, which we consider a great compliment. There is always plenty to do! In the low season we are busy doing odd jobs in and around the houses, so they look tip top again in the high season. So our work is very diverse throughout the year. The most fun, of course, is receiving our guests. We love to share our love for the island with them. It is special to see, that no matter how different we are, we all become children in nature again. We go building sandcastles, searching for shells..... In addition, we find peace in the beautiful nature of Schiermonnikoog. The beach here is so big and wide that you easily meet no one for whole stretches. When you completely disappear into that vast landscape you come to the most beautiful insights. We hope to share this for many years to come.
