The Koumelker is a genuine Swedish log cabin of 45 m² in a beautiful waterfront location. A delight for water sports enthusiasts, fishermen, or those seeking peace and quiet. The veranda offers sheltered and dry seating, and the garden offers both sun and shade. Enjoy long summer evenings here by the warmth of the fire pit. Boats can be moored directly in front of the house. Cars can be parked next to the house, and bicycles can be stored under the canopy for charging. We have furnished the cabins simply yet comfortably for four people. All are on one level, with one bedroom furnished with new hotel beds and one with a spacious double box bed. The open-plan kitchen was renovated in 2025 and now even includes a dishwasher. There are also three types of coffee makers, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and an induction cooktop. The utility room also houses a washing machine, a combination microwave, and a barbecue. There is a smart TV, cable channels, and Wi-Fi. Because the log cabin has underfloor heating, it's available for rent year-round.
Fun fact: A "koumelker" is a Frisian term for a farmer who keeps cows solely for milk. The "koumelker" at the Oude Herbergh had to sail or haul trees to the islands with his Frisian barge to collect grass for his cows, or, in a much more laborious way, transport the cows to the islands.
